Bryce Canyon
The last time I was in Bryce Canyon, I was in my first trimester with my first babe, Preston. That was over 20 years ago! I remember being so very nauseated and this time was no different. Seven weeks along with baby number 6, the morning sickness and pregnancy exhaustion is very real! Give me only bland foods, please. The less flavor, the better. :)
After my ultrasound last Thursday revealed a small spot in the lining of my uterus that is bleeding, I was told to take it super easy this week to let it heal. Hiking was out of the question! Thankfully breathtaking views were accessible in a short walk from the parking lot at Sunrise Point and Sunset Point. I mean, look at that view!
Lincoln is such a great little traveler. He was only a month old on his first trip which included a plane ride and visit to Disneyland for Kate's cheer competition. He loves seeing the world and exploring new territory. He has been incredibly adaptable, too. Plus, he's so happy when he gets time with both Mom and Dad together, as if he's the luckiest boy in the world.
We took the long way home so we could drive through the tiny town of Koosharem, Utah. I was always told that was where my Grandpa grew up. After reading more I discovered my Grandpa James Carroll Bagley was born in a log cabin in 1910 in the town of Greenwich, UT, just outside of Koosharem. It was in Greenwich that we found this little road that had the most lovely farm at the end of it. Set in the middle of nowhere, this little part of the world is really beautiful and peaceful. Far from the beaten path, and a place I may never get the opportunity to see again, it was really special to have driven through it yesterday on our way home. I feel a little bit closer to my grandfather having experienced this place for myself.
It won't be long and we will be packing up and leaving UTAH for a new adventure in FLORIDA and we are just soaking it all in. Over the past couple of months, we have visited Moab, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, This is the Place, Hogle Zoo, Thanksgiving Point, Silver Lake at Brighton, the Natural History Museum up at the U and the Children's Museum downtown Salt Lake. We will be back, of course, for visits, but I suspect a lot more of our exploring will be taking place clear across the continent. Who knows? Only time will tell...
